Never disregard anything old (but in a good condition) that lies in your
wardrobe unless you have a decent reason to. I have had this orange old
school denim pant since my primary school days. One time my mama brought some
clothes home when we were young, my sisters and I scrambled for the fancy
looking ones leaving this particular pant behind.
I wanted to claim it but I was too skinny to fit in, and anyway who would dare wear it at the time? It was considered a fashion passĂ© of sorts since everyone was too obsessed with the “hipster" trend( the flared pants) and it was a "taboo" for a girl to be seen in jeans in my neighbourhood, unless you were ready to stick out like a sore thumb or be the subject of ridicule . Sadly enough, wearing "jeans ya wababa" was a no-no.
But Deep within me I knew a day would come for me to finally do justice to this piece of clothing, and I bet the designer would have been proud of the end product.
